I have always known I was a writer at heart. The stories swim around in my head, pushing to get out. But life happens, and like so many before me, I pushed my passions to the back burner and handled what needed handling.
Lately, the stories are pushing harder.
I thought if I read enough books about writing, I could jump in and write a book on the first try. Are you laughing? You should be. I have learned that it doesn’t matter how many books on writing you read; actually doing it is different.
So this is me, learning through trial and error. Trying to make a go of this whole being an author thing. This blog will record my progress. The planning, the writing, the marketing. Oh, gods, the marketing. All while I try to keep my day job.
There will be missteps and triumphs. It will be messy, and hopefully a little humorous. I expect to mess up, to adjust, and to try again. And in the end, I hope to have something worth publishing.
